The Modular Training for Teacher Training Level One takes place over three non-residential two-day events. This covers the same material as the week long residential training event.

Course Details
Module One: An introduction to mindfulness and its role in health care
- the theory of mindfulness: definitions; historical context; applications in health care and research
- the practice of mindfulness: body scan; mindfulness of breathing meditation; mindful movement; using the breath to help with pain and other unpleasant events; primary and secondary suffering; the five-step process
Module Two: Deepening personal practice: working in meditation and mindfulness in daily life
- recap and review practice of mindfulness learnt on Part One
- consolidate the practices and skills learnt on Part One
- what it means to ‘work’ in meditation: doing and being
- the mindful approach to thoughts and emotions
- develop understanding and practice of mindful movements
- mindfulness in daily life: investigating how we use our time, how various activities affect our health and well being
- using mindfulness to work with our own difficulties and suffering
Module Three: Deepening personal practice: broadening and refining awareness of the world around us
- recap and review practice of mindfulness learnt on previous parts of the course
- consolidate the practices and skills learnt on the previous parts of the course
- kindly awareness meditation practice
