This course is for anyone suffering with pain, illness, fatigue, or any other health condition, who cannot attend a local course or wants to practice from home. The course was designed by Vidyamala Burch, based on 25 years experience of managing severe chronic pain with mindfulness.

About the Course

  • Unlimited access to the course materials after your course has ended - you can redo the course as often as you want!

How will I join?

  • Join one conference call at the beginning of the course (optional but recommended)
  • Watch the video lessons recorded by your teacher - at a time that suits you
  • Practice with the online meditations recorded by your teacher - 10 minutes twice a day, for six out of seven days, over the nine weeks of the course
  • Talk to your classmates at least once per week, with a text, audio, or video message, on the easy to use online forum (you will be given instructions on how to do this), about how you’re finding the course, how the meditations, mindfulness, and compassion practices are affecting your health, and so on.

  • Tips from modern Chronic Pain management techniques to manage pain and health issues optimally to improve your health and the quality of your life.

How does the Voicethread forum work?

The first week is an ‘orientation week’ which will show you how to use the voicethread platform. You will need access to the internet via a computer, smartphone or tablet.

Bursary Places

We have a limited number of bursary places for people with a physical or mental health condition and whose financial circumstances are such that they would not otherwise be able to afford to attend a course with us.

We ask you to consider how much you are able to fund yourself (this should be a minimum of 50% of the course fee) and the charitable arm of our organisation, The Breathworks Foundation, will fund the remainder of the course fee.
