About the session

These sessions are run in a friendly group setting, guided by one of our wonderful and highly experienced teachers. You will be given an introduction to what mindfulness is, how it is practiced, and guided through some short practices and a meditation. You will come away with some simple practices to help you incorporate mindfulness into your daily life, as well as some suggestions for the next steps to take on your journey with mindfulness.

Who are they Suitable for

Anyone experiencing stress associated with work, relationships, loss and other factors outside your control, including dealing with the general complexity and pace of modern life. Anyone with a long term health condition, illness or chronic pain.Those with a general interest in mindfulness are also very welcome.

Please arrive a little before the session is due to take place - the session is for a relatively brief time so we start promptly and latecomers are discouraged from coming into the class.  Please book in at reception.

On Completion

As well as giving you an introduction to mindfulness and the Breathworks approach, this taster will also allow you to understand which of the 8-week courses will be the most suitable for you, either Mindfulness for Health or Mindfulness for Stress.

Your Taster Session Leader

This session will be led by experienced Breathworks teacher Claire Morris.

Claire specialises in one-to-one mindfulness coaching from her home in Manchester or via skype/ phone. Using the Breathworks 8 week mindfulness for stress/ health course as a framework, Claire will work with you to tailor the course so that it focuses on the areas in your life where you want to bring more mindfulness and compassion. As well as being the founder of Wild Awake Mindfulness where she engages people in mindfulness and nature connection, Claire delivers mental health, mindfulness and resilience training for Manchester Mind, and co-delivers the Practitioner Training Programme at Mind in Salford, training and supervising practitioners to become mindfulness teachers. She also works with business and workplaces to bring about positive change for staff.

Claire has had a meditation practice for over 10 years and attends meditation retreats at least twice a year which ensures she is able to teacher from a place of deep personal practice. She is registered with the UK Mindfulness Network as an accredited Breathworks teacher.
