The Breathworks Foundation

Making mindfulness accessible

We are a registered charity, with a mission is to make mindfulness accessible to everyone. Being an organisation that gives back has been important to us from the very beginning. Our Founder Vidyamala was living on benefits for many years before she was able to secure funding through a disability grant to start Breathworks. We know that many who benefit the most from our services are least able to afford it, so we are committed to help those in need through bursaries, scholarships, free resources and other funding initiatives.

Training is fully underway for my challenge of taking on The Yorkshire Three Peaks at Night. This has involved a few night hikes - one of which was in non-stop heavy rain all night! What an experience that was - but it didn't put me off whatsoever; it was just a taste of what I might be letting myself in for.

In-between training outside you will also find me in the gym working on those squats which I hope will help me climb all the way as the The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1,585m (5,200ft) of ascent!

Whilst I am training, I always think of how the Breathworks course has helped me massively with my mental health recovery and why I am doing this: to share the gift of compassion by raising funds to enable those with financial barriers access these courses. We are all human at the end of the day, and all go through some kind of suffering in our lives so if we can help one another in any way that we can, why not, hey?

I am still quite far off my target to enable 5 people access the Breathworks 8-week Mindfulness for Health courses, either face to face or online. It would be truly heartfelt if you could help support me in getting closer to this or even smashing it! Please click on the link below if you would like to support me.
