Vidyamala injured her spine when she was a teenager, and has used mindfulness and meditation practices to help her manage chronic pain and disability for nearly 30 years. Danny suffered a major leg injury when paragliding. Mindfulness helped him recover, despite severe pain.
In 2000 Vidyamala founded Breathworks, an organisation offering mindfulness and compassion based courses for others living with pain, stress and illness. 'Mindfulness for Health' is based on the Breathworks programme and is already proving popular with it's easy-to-follow 8 week programme and CD of guided mindfulness exercises.
Vidyamala has previously published "Living well with Pain and Illness – the mindful way to free yourself from suffering" as well as several meditation CDs. Danny co-authored the best-selling "Mindfulness - how to find peace in a frantic world" with Prof Mark Williams.
