About Me:
Image of Heather Davies - Breathworks Accredited TeacherMy own journey in mindfulness, following a period of much stress, led me to train with Breathworks, and, as they say, this has been life changing. Positive wellbeing, for me, starts in childhood; in the application of this principle to practice I have gained the qualification to teach mindfulness to children aged 7-11 from the Mindfulness in Schools Project. Lately, my work with teachers and children has led to success in tendering for the delivery of a mindfulness project with primary and secondary schools in a city located in the north of England.

Living in a multigenerational family, with a young working dog, in the heart of a rural county, means that my own mindfulness practice has now become my daily, lived, experience. Weekly attendance at my meditation group sessions and commitment to their regular retreats supplement this, as does much reading and personal research; the work of Tara Brach particularly inspires me.

In all my work with groups and individuals, I adhere to the Good Practice Guidance for Mindfulness Teachers (2011).

About Me:
Image of Nichola Barlow - Breathworks Accredited TeacherI attended and 8 week Mindfulness for Health course in September 2014 as chronic pain and fatigue associated with a long term condition was impacting negatively on my life and ability to work. During this 8 weeks I experienced a real and significant change in my relationship with my pain and fatigue. I learned how to listen and respond to what my body is telling me and as a consequence my quality of life has improved immensely.

I am a registered nurse most of my working life has involved responding to the health needs of others with compassion. The next natural step for me was to become a mindfulness teacher. I undertook my teacher training with Breathworks during 2015 attending residential retreats and supporting both Mindfulness for Health and Mindfulness for Stress courses.

When I am not teaching mindfulness, I am a senior lecturer in nursing and have undertaken research into nursing, nursing ethics and I am currently working on research into the impact of mindfulness in the work place in collaboration with Breathworks.
