Mindfulness and Work Preparedness Pilot Programme

Breathworks have been working in collaboration with the Department of Health North West and the North West NHS to deliver an innovative public health programme using mindfulness approaches to help people in recovery from addiction to return to well-being and community involvement.

The pilot programme was delivered in early 2011 in Manchester and is being evaluated over the summer by a team based at Manchester Metropolitan University. Initial results suggest that the project has been extremely successful.

The project was funded under Public Service Agreement PSA16, supporting vulnerable and socially excluded adults.

Workplace Mindfulness Training

"I feel a lot calmer inside. I think that I’m now able to support others more effectively because I don’t get drawn into the detail of the stress... I’m more productive in the time that I have."
