With the growing popularity of mindfulness and compassion many of us are getting a taste of meditation and a wish to practise more intensively, but there are limited opportunities to take our meditation practice deeper in the ideal conditions that a retreat can provide.
This week-long meditation retreat is aimed to fulfil that need whether your mindfulness training has been in Breathworks, MBSR,MBCT or any other mindfulness-based approach.
This retreat will be held mostly in silence, apart from some teaching sessions to help you take your meditation deeper. Many of us long for periods to quietly deepen the mindfulness and compassion practices we have learned. The programme will provide a structure for practising together and within that you will be free to follow whatever personal thread is alive for you along with joining some guided sessions each day. There will also be led mindful movement sessions.
The retreat includes opportunities to talk to one of the team about your meditation practice if you wish.
Location: We are hiring Vajrasana for the week, a Buddhist retreat centre in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. The retreat will be entirely secular.
Please note that Vajrasana has heavy fire doors which affect access for people with mobility issues. We apologise for this and are happy to discuss your access needs with you to look at the most appropriate support or booking we can offer.
Programme: A typical day's programme is as follows:
7.00 rise (moving to 6.30 after third day) followed by meditation
10.30 teaching and meditation
12.15 mindful movement
1.00 lunch followed by free time to rest and take walks in the countryside
4.00 meditation reviews either individually or in groups
