We’re hiring. Could you be our next Head of Training? We’re hiring. Could you be our next Head of Training? For almost 20 years Breathworks has been working to provide high quality mindfulness education to help people with pain, stress and illness to lead more fulfilling lives. At the heart of this work is our well established teacher training programme; a 12 month programme that equips mindfulness practitioners to deliver the Breathworks structured programmes and effectively share and guide others in mindfulness practice. The Head of Training is a crucial role in the Breathworks team. Ginny Wall has done a phenomenal job over the last 4.5 years, overhauling the whole programme and then adapting this for online learning. The programme is now in really good shape and through our excellent training team, we facilitate learning for hundreds of practitioners every year, directly in English and through a network of partnerships in several other languages. Ginny is now ready to hand on the baton and plans to leave this role late September/early October and continue in the team through teaching/training and offering mentoring and supervision. What will be your contribution? You will be helping more people globally to train as Breathworks mindfulness teachers; working to tailor the programme for training in-house teams (eg as at Sheffield IAPT); as well as working to grow the diversity of reach in the Breathworks programme, through working with the new POC interns and helping to scale Take Back Your Life by developing training for cohorts of teachers in the approach. Breathworks has a friendly and capable team of 15 people, who mostly work part-time. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established organisation and take a leadership role in the field. To thrive in this role you will need: To be a fully accredited Breathworks teacher with a strong understanding of and belief in Breathworks mission, vision, values, and teaching and training model. A depth of knowledge and experience in mindfulness practice, with a regular teaching practice of Breathworks programmes. A strong commitment to the principles and practice of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and able to respond to and hold complexity. An ability to operate at a strategic level and provide direction to the wider training team and represent Breathworks in the field via BAMBA etc. To be a skilful communicator, helping to resolve trainee/trainers concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner with professionalism and kindness. Strong IT skills and knowledge and understanding of best practice in adult learning methodology and how this applies to online training (design and implementation). An organised self starter able to work independently, asking for support when needed to meet deadlines. Strong team facilitator, helping to continue bringing the associate trainers together as a cohesive team. To be adaptable to change and an ability to innovate and work across a vast geographic area alongside other members of the team, Breathworks Co-Founder, Vidyamala and Head of Programmes, Stanter. Please read the full job description, which gives details of the hours and benefits package. To apply please send an up to date CV with either a cover letter or video if you prefer, letting us know: Why you are inspired to take up this role and what you hope to bring to the team. We are committed to continuing our work to increase the diversity of the Breathworks team and welcome applications from any under represented groups. Deadline: 10th September 2021 Send to: [email protected]. Helen will be away on retreat over July & August and contactable after the 6th September. People who are dedicated, passionate and funny and who care so much about alleviating pain and suffering of our fellow human beings. At the heart of Breathworks is compassion. It’s the central axis and it’s the reason why I wanted to be part of this team. Breathworks values align with my own and there’s no better place to be working than here. Colin says, I've been working with Breathworks since 2008, and I have really enjoyed working with a talented, friendly and dedicated team to share programmes that make a positive difference in peoples' lives. It’s the diversity of work that keeps things interesting; from rehab services to the houses of parliament, from hearing intimate personal stories to developing academic evaluations.
