Breathworks Teacher Accreditation Requirements for Accreditation Before accreditation you must have: Successfully completed introductory and advanced levels of our Teacher Training programme Supported a Breathworks course Completed a Mindful Movement weekend Completed all diaries and reviewed them with your personal mentor Run your own practice course or co-led a Breathworks course Discussed accreditation with your Breathworks personal mentor, based on the outcomes of your training and application of skills Completed a meditation retreat (check our FAQs for info about meeting this retreat requirement) You’ll be accredited to teach mindfulness and compassion skills with the adaptable and versatile Breathworks Approach, and will also be accredited to run our two signature 8-week courses, Mindfulness for Health and Mindfulness for Stress. Maintaining Breathworks Teacher Accreditation We want to ensure that our teachers are resourced in their teaching practice and within the accreditation process we support you to do this. To continue receiving all of the benefits described below you will need to renew your accreditation, pay an annual fee of £80, as well as confirm that you are meeting the following standards: Adhere to the BAMBA Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) (previously the UK Network of Mindfulness-Based Teacher Trainers) and the Breathworks Code of Conduct Having on-going mindfulness supervision is an important part of the good practice requirements for teachers of mindfulness-based courses as set out by BAMBA GPG. Complete a short annual survey to help Breathworks report on its social impact and provide information and feedback about who you are reaching with mindfulness (sent at the start of each calendar year) Attend the annual teachers gathering with Breathworks founder and team or watch the recording. Attend at least one CPD event/year. This event can be a Breathworks event or an event offered by any BAMBA member organisation. Attend at least one 5-7 days long meditation retreat per year. This can be broken down into 1, 2 or 3 day events if you have caring responsibilities or health needs. This can be a Breathworks event, although it doesn't need to be. This retreat experience deepens your own practice, providing more space and stillness for the fullness of your experience to emerge. This can be residential or online, be teacher led and include significant periods of silence. An annual teachers gathering with Vidyamala and the team. Peer supervision sessions run by a member of the associate teaching team - these will run 4 times a year. Affinity spaces for People of Colour teachers - which includes peer supervision sessions run by a POC member of the associate teaching team - 4 times a year.
