Mindfulness for Stress course

"I'm already noticing big changes in myself. Several members of my family and friends have noticed as well, and commented on how much happier I seem. It's amazing, and I feel so much more 'alive'. I'm so glad I came on your course - it's one of the best things I've ever done."

Happiness is a skill. This is what the ancient practice of mindfulness teaches, and what modern psychology research has shown. The wonderful thing is that this skill, just like driving or dancing, can be learned, and it can stay with you for a lifetime.

About The Course

At the end of this 8-week course you will have a foundation in the skills of mindfulness, compassion, and meditation, and know how to apply them in your life in a way that really makes a difference.

"A practical and powerful toolkit to help me enjoy life more. [The course] helped so much - I will never be able to say how much."

Book My Place

Who is the Course for?

The 8-week course, taught by an experienced teacher in a supportive and friendly group setting, will teach you how to boost your happiness and well-being, find new sources of resilience, joy, and calm in your life, and to cope with stress, anxiety, fear, and depression.

Over the decades that we've run the course, we've helped thousands of people suffering from stress associated with work, family and relationships, loss, depression, chronic generalised anxiety, social anxiety, and those who simply want to boost their resilience, learn mindfulness and meditation, or find greater joy and well-being in their lives.

If you think that you have a chance of increasing your quality of life, we warmly invite you to book a place.

8-Week Mindfulness Course Format: 8 weekly sessions of 2 hours, daily home practice in 10 minute sessions, groups of 12-15 participants, in person or online, led by an expert mindfulness teacher, and comes with lifetime membership of our online community of practice.

Research and Testimonials

Breathworks Courses have been the subject of multiple psychological research papers, as well as our own internal evaluations. If you would like to find out more about the results of these studies, you can take a look at our research page.

Depression and Other Mental Health symptoms - findings from a scientific study on the Mindfulness for Stress Course. The graph compares a waitlist control group, an active control group, and the mindfulness for stress group.

Data from Pizutti et al. (2019); a study of Brazilian health professionals, comparing the Breathworks Mindfulness for Stress (MfS) course to a waiting list and a relaxation techniques course. The MfS course was much more effective than both control groups in reducing both depressive and other mental health symptoms.

How to Deal With Obstacles in Meditation

There is a sentiment often expressed in meditation circles that any attempt to get better at meditation is somehow misguided, and that a distracted meditation practice should just be accepted for what it is. There's some truth to this, but is it the whole story?

  • Why You Find Mindfulness Practice Difficult

Why You Find Mindfulness Practice Difficult

Everybody struggles with mindfulness practice at some time or another. You try your best, but don’t seem to be making any progress. You try to practice compassion, but end up criticising yourself for not doing it right. You meditate for a long time, but end up more restless and distracted than when you started. Sometimes the distance between our actual experience and the mindfulness that we had hoped to embody can seem like a measuring stick for something wrong with us...
