Coping with Loss: A Mindfulness Workshop Purchase for £10 Here 💻 Format: 1-hour 45 min Online workshop 🙋♀ Suitable For: All experience levels, including those new to mindfulness Overview Join Julia Lofts for this mindfulness workshop offering a gentle space to explore loss in all its forms. Through teaching, poetry, guided meditation and honest shared reflection, this session offers ways to meet grief with more presence and self-compassion, rather than a set of steps to follow. Suitable for anyone touched by loss of any form, whether recent or long ago. Please note: only workshop leader Julia Lofts is visible and audible on the recording. What You'll Gain A model for making sense of grief: the stages of grief, from shock and denial through to acceptance and hope, offered as a way of understanding why grief can feel so non-linear and confusing, instead of a checklist to work through. Poetry and story woven throughout: readings of Rumi's The Guest House and an adapted version of Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, both used to explore welcoming difficult emotions rather than pushing them away. Two guided practices: Soften, Soothe, Allow (a body-based practice developed by Kristin Neff) and a compassionate companion meditation, inviting a source of unconditional kindness inward. Teaching on what keeps us stuck: the "why me?" search for meaning, and self-blame or guilt, and why they're worth noticing rather than fighting. Ways to keep practising: further tools for living alongside loss, including gratitude, equanimity, letting go and forgiveness, plus two book recommendations. Is This Event For Me? This workshop is open to everyone, including those new to mindfulness. This recording is for anyone who has experienced loss, in all forms - whether bereavement, a relationship ending, a change in health or ability, or a future that didn't turn out as expected. Mindfulness teachers may also find elements of this session useful for CPD, particularly the stages of grief model, the Soften, Soothe, Allow practice, and the compassionate companion meditation. What People Said: “I was totally absorbed, don't think I checked the time once. It went deep and I had several lightbulb moments.” “Not quite knowing what brought me to this workshop (and being uncertain what I might find) I was surprised at how profound & affecting the experience turned out to be for me.” “The workshop has been really valuable in helping me to acknowledge my own losses, understanding why I've found it difficult to accept or even see them before, and as a step towards accepting them.” Practical Details 💷 One-time payment of £10.00📲 Immediate access ⏳ No time limits — revisit whenever you need👥 You don’t need to join our wider Community to access this collection (though you’re welcome to explore it later if you wish) Accessing the Recording To purchase and enjoy this recording, you'll be directed to our online learning platform, The Community of Practice.
