For the next 7-day period, I will be silent tomorrow for 7 hours, Tuesday for 6 hours and so on, ending with being silent for 1 hour next Sunday. I have chosen to decrease my hours silence across the week, as I am on a training course at the weekend, which will no doubt require me to speak!
To enable young people to access the mental health support they need through Breathworks.
Tell your supporters what you are committing to over the 7-day period
I am committing to a minimum of 120 minutes of silence per day 60 minutes morning & 60 minutes in the evening. To help Breathworks to help those who can not afford the whole cost of a Breathworks course.
For 7 days from 24th to the 30th of June I will maintain a personal silence for 12 waking hours per day. That's 84 hours in the 7 days when I won't speak, listen to radio, tv, music or another form of entertainment. I won't use a computer, or answer the phone, reply to texts or use any kind of social media.
I am being silent for up to an hour each day out in nature, to really listen to what I can hear outdoors. As a bonus for my husband, I am going to be verbally silent while the Euros are on!
I'm very grateful to the Breathworks charity, I have had a bursary place on a course and would really like to help fund more for people. Thank you
Seven days of silence starting on Monday 24th and ending Sunday 30th. I will be commiting to 4 hours of silence for 6 days and 8 hours of silence on the last day. In total 32 hours of silence. Which means, no technology, no books during the silence, just me with my own thoughts and experience.
I'm excited to be taking part in the Breathworks Silence for Seven campaign to raise money to enable young adults like me, living with health challenges, to access life-changing symptom management courses
Raising funds for young people to access mindfulness
I believe in the importance of supporting young adults to access meditation and mindfulness practices to help reduce stress and anxiety.
To support Breathworks with reaching more people around the world with their life-changing teachings.
