💻 Format: 2-hour Online workshop
🙋‍♀ Suitable For: All experience levels, including those new to mindfulness and drawing

Overview

Join artist and Breathworks teacher Clare Barton-Harvey for a gentle exploration of drawing as a mindfulness practice. Through simple, guided exercises using everyday objects, this recording invites you to slow down, notice more closely, and let go of the need to get it "right". No drawing experience required.

What You'll Gain

  • A short guided mindfulness practice to settle and arrive before drawing

  • A series of simple, playful drawing exercises using natural and everyday objects as your starting point

  • An introduction to three mindfulness themes — openness, curiosity and connection — and how each shapes the way we draw

  • Practical ways to bring sensory awareness into a creative practice

  • A gentle way of noticing and releasing the judging mind while you work

  • A set of mindful drawing exercises you can return to and practise again at home

What You'll Need

  • Pencil or pen

  • Five pieces of paper

  • Two objects from nature of your choice (a leaf, a feather, a flower, a rock or crystal)

  • One everyday household object you don't normally pay attention to (a plug, a lightbulb)

  • Optional: any other drawing materials you have to hand — pastels, crayons, felt tips

Is This Event For Me?

The workshop is suitable for all levels of drawing and mindfulness experience, including complete beginners. You don't need to think of yourself as "an artist" to take part — just a willingness to slow down and pay attention.

Mindfulness teachers may also find elements of this session useful for CPD, particularly the way Clare weaves the themes of openness, curiosity and connection into practical, teachable exercises.
