Overview

Join Debbie Cane, a Breathworks Associate and Senior Clinical Scientist in the NHS, exploring how mindfulness and self-compassion can help you recognise the early signs of burnout and steer away from it before it takes hold.

Debbie brings both clinical experience and her own practice to a session that leans practical and experiential: less about theory, more about noticing what burnout feels like for you and building your own ways to respond.

What You'll Gain

  • A clearer sense of what burnout is: how exhaustion, loss of focus and a quiet detachment from life can build up over time, and why it becomes so much harder to recover from once you're in it.

  • An introduction to pacing: a way of moving through your days that helps you stay on a more even keel, rather than swinging between pushing hard and crashing.

  • Two guided practices: drawing on mindfulness and self-compassion, with space to notice how they land for you.

  • The beginnings of your own toolkit: simple, self-compassionate strategies you can carry into daily life, chosen because they suit you rather than as a one-size-fits-all fix.

Is This Event For Me?

This workshop is open to everyone, including those new to mindfulness. It may speak to you if you recognise the early signs of burnout in your own life, or if you find it hard to pace yourself.

Mindfulness teachers may also find elements useful for CPD, particularly the way Debbie draws mindfulness, self-compassion and pacing together into a practical approach to burnout, informed by her clinical work in the NHS.
