Mindfulness for Addiction Purchase for £10 Here 💻 Format: 1.5hr Online workshop🙋♀ Suitable For: Mindfulness Teachers and those in caring professions Overview Led by experienced Breathworks teacher Benedict Hoff — an integrative therapist and former Clinical Lead in mental health — this experiential masterclass introduces mindfulness-based approaches to working with addiction. Benedict begins from a simple premise: the better we understand our own compulsions, the better placed we are to support others with theirs. The session draws on Buddhist and mindfulness-based psychology to explore craving and desire, then turns to how this understanding can inform clinical work with triggers, cravings and the relapse cycle. What You'll Gain A different lens on addiction: how Buddhist and mindfulness-based psychology understand craving and desire, and how these play out in everyday life, not only in clinical extremes. Insight into your own patterns: space to become more aware of your own compulsive behaviours and go-to "crutches," and how that self-knowledge supports your work with others. A clinical framework: the three core concepts from an eight-week MBRP course — triggers, cravings and the relapse cycle — and how to bring them into practice with clients and patients. Two practices to keep: the SOBER Breathing Space and Urge Surfing, both drawn from the MBRP programme, to practise yourself and offer to those you support. Is This Event For Me? This masterclass is designed for people working in the caring professions: mindfulness teachers / facilitators, counsellors and psychotherapists, medics, social workers, addiction support workers, and anyone whose work brings them alongside people struggling with addiction. Mindfulness teachers may find it particularly useful for CPD, especially the two named MBRP practices and the framing of triggers, cravings and the relapse cycle.
