Making mindfulness accessible

We are a registered charity, with a mission is to make mindfulness accessible to everyone. Being an organisation that gives back has been important to us from the very beginning. Our Founder Vidyamala was living on benefits for many years before she was able to secure funding through a disability grant to start Breathworks. We know that many who benefit the most from our services are least able to afford it, so we are committed to help those in need through bursaries, scholarships, free resources and other funding initiatives.

Our Breathworks Team of Night Riders are getting closer to their big day, and we’ve been catching up with them to ask how their training is going, here’s their replies:

Sona:

"Last week I rode the bike from Hereford to Ledbury in 2.5 hours after it was serviced. I covered about 35km. Feeling a little tired on the last leg I realized I would have to cycle yet another 15km in Liverpool. So it will be a bit of a challenge."

Dave:

"It’s tough…. I haven't been on a bike for at least a decade!!"

Karen

"I am cycling 2.5 miles to and from work most days and a bit of gym here and there…. Beyond the odd ten-miler I’m probably not going to actually train…  I’ll just go for it on the night! I used to be a bike courier in London in my early 20s, riding about 60 miles a day between City and West End, Monday to Friday… and I just learnt to keep going.  I have quite a lot of stamina and determination, and inspiration will keep me going. This is SUCH a good cause. I love working for Breathworks, I’ve been here almost two years and it’s the best job I’ve ever had.  I get to work with an amazing team of people, who have become my friends (lucky eh?), doing something I believe in, in a beautiful place, and helping people change their lives for the better."
