About our Blended Learning Training 

This training gives you the opportunity to benefit from a blended style of learning that takes place both in-person and online. This gives students the opportunity to meet their trainers and fellow trainees in-person, before continuing with their training to fit with schedules in an online setting. 

The Blended Learning Advanced Teacher Training consists of:

  1. In-person Immersion Weekend: on 22 & 23 April 
  2. Live Online Sessions: for 6 consecutive weeks following the in-person weekend

There will be self-study throughout the training, students can expect a total of 60 hours of learning across the programme. 

As it will be an intimate learning environment with a limited number of individuals on each training, do contact us with your interest soon if you wish to secure a spot.

What is involved?

1. In-person Immersion Weekend

On this Immersion Weekend, you will have the opportunity to come together with your trainee group to train, meditate and learn in-person. It will be a special opportunity to connect with the individuals who you are on your Teacher Training journey with.


Location 

The Immersion Weekend will be held at Whaley Hall, a historical old Abby situated by Goyt Valley between Manchester and Sheffield. Whaley Hall is a 10-minute walk from Whaley Bridge train station, you can find more on how to get there here. There is free parking available onsite.

Accommodation

Participants have the option of staying at Whaley Hall, or arranging their own accommodation. Please state in your Application Form if you wish to book at room at Whaley Hall. 

Those who choose to stay can expect a basic and communal retreat-style environment. There will be a chance to bond with your trainers and peers over the weekend, with morning and evening meditation sits, and free time to socialise, study and relax.

Rooms available:
• Single rooms (limited numbers, first come first served)
• Shared rooms: 2 people per room

All rooms have shared bathrooms with showers. Bedding and towels are provided.


Accommodation Cost

Room costs are paid outside of Training Fees. Participants can choose to stay from Friday to Sunday or from Friday to Monday morning (you will be charged per night).

Accommodation including food is £35 a night.

Arrival & Departure Times 

For those staying at Whaley Hall:
• Arrival time is from 4pm on Friday 21 April
• Departure time is Sunday following last session OR Monday by 10am

If you will be arranging your own accommodation, please plan to arrive in time for the first activity in the daily schedule.


What to bring

  • Comfortable clothes for meditation and mindful movement
  • Toiletries and any items needed to make your stay more comfortable

2. Live Online Sessions

Following the Immersion Weekend, you will continue your studies with weekly live online sessions with your training group. In these  online sessions, you will cover key concepts and practices in more depth, further your personal practice, and learn to confidently teach mindfulness in a group setting. There will be self-study between sessions to integrate theories and practices into learning, as well as support provided from your trainers along the way.

Mindfulness in the workplace associate MJ - Breathworks

Mj Stevens

Mj has been an Accredited trainer with Breathworks since 2013 and has a
wealth of experience teaching mindfulness. As part of the senior training team, Mj is frequently involved in the Breathworks training events, supervision of practice courses and one-to-one work.

He is a Buddhist and has a personal practice of more than 25 years. He is also a qualified Alexander Technique teacher, with a particular interest in movement, and how the body affects the mind and vice versa.

Mj has a broad range of workplace experience, which include Macmillan cancer HP, Physiotherapists at Sussex Community NHS, Teacher Training at Sheffield IAPT, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Maggie’s Cancer charity, Cheshire Fire and Rescue, RCM Manchester and other local businesses in Manchester.

He is a member of BAMBA.
