Who Benefits

The Foundation offers bursaries to people experiencing financial hardship worldwide from the Aryamati Bursary Fund. This enables them to access mindfulness courses and gain skills to self-manage their health and wellness. Bursaries are offered for both face-to-face and online courses, providing a supported community setting even for those who are unable to leave their homes or who have no local teacher.

“The Breathworks course was of great benefit at the time and has been ever since. The exercises have maintained my mobility through the winter, which is when I have the most problems, and the body scans and meditations are of daily benefit. They also highlight when I am most stressed and disengaged with the world - which is of inestimable value.” - course participant

There is a high demand for Breathworks teachers, both in the UK and abroad. Many people come to training who have transformed their own lives through this practice, and have invaluable experience to share, along with a passionate drive to help others. We provide bursaries for people who could make excellent teachers, but for whom the cost of training would be prohibitive.

“I hope to find a sustainable way to teach from a place of authenticity in order to help myself and others. In a world where disabled people are often disenfranchised and feel like second class citizens, Breathworks has given me a new, compassionate and engaged way to live.’’ - teacher training graduate

The Foundation has developed successful partnerships with charities and community groups, expanding delivery of mindfulness courses and reaching a wider community. By developing more partnerships, we can offer diverse forms of delivery to meet different and changing needs, and make mindfulness accessible to those hardest to reach who are often the very people who need it most.

“I hadn’t realised it, but I think I had ‘fallen out’ with my heart after my diagnosis. One of the movement exercises we did in class made us hug ourselves and it felt like I was hugging myself for the first time since I was poorly.” - course participant, St. Michael’s Hospice

Three Essential Mindfulness Practices for Resilience

We all have good days and bad days, usually determined by what’s happened to us. But what if we flipped the script and started relating to things differently? What if what made a day good or bad wasn’t so much about what happened to us as it was down to how we responded?
