  2. Mindfulness Teacher Supervision

Mindfulness Teacher Supervision

On-going mindfulness supervision is an important part of the good practice requirements for teachers of mindfulness-based courses. All of our supervisors meet the good practice guidelines for supervisors developed by BAMBA (British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches). We offer mindfulness-based supervision specifically for Breathworks accredited teachers and those who are in our training programme.

Frequency of Supervision

Generally, teachers need to have regular supervision when they're leading 8 week courses, or doing other, regular  mindfulness sessions. Three supervision sessions during an 8 week course (near the beginning, middle and end) is usually about right for someone who is a relatively new teacher. Two sessions per 8 week course may be enough once you get more experienced - that's something that can be discussed and agreed between the teacher and their supervisor. So, that's about once a month when you just have plenty of work ongoing, whether it's 8 week courses or one-off events.

Changing Supervisors

Lots of teachers like to stay with the same supervisor for some time, as you build up a sense of trust and insight through your work together. Equally, lots of teachers find it helpful to change supervisors from time to time, as it allows a fresh approach, and may bring news insights as a result. The decision about this is really down to individual teachers.

Booking & Costs:

Follow the links below and when you have chosen your preferred supervisor click the button, Request Supervisor, contained at the bottom of their profile page. The request form will be sent directly to the supervisor for arrangements to be made. The fee for supervision is £50 per hour, payable directly to your supervisor.
